Good morning ladies and gentlemen.
The honorable adjudicators and all of my beloved
audiences.
First of all, let’s thank God that we can gather in
this place with a good condition. And now, before I deliver my speech, let me
introduce myself. I am Wayan Gracias. I’m a student of SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung.
I am an eleventh grader of Science
Program.
In this nice moment, I would like to deliver my
speech on “The Expensive Fee of Ujian Mandiri”.
Ladies and gentlemen,
As we all know, there are some ways for senior high
school students who have just passed the national examination to enter state
universities that their want. There are SNMPTN Undangan and Ujian Mandiri. And
the favorite one is SNMPTN Undangan. Why? That’s right! Because only students
with outstanding achievement may potentially be admitted. It means thar not
everybody could pass SNMPTN Undangan easily. Then, if many fail in SNMPTN
Undangan, they will try to join ujian mandiri test to enter the state
universities. Although it is ujian mandiri, they still have to follow very
strict selection test. In a state universities, students who are accepted by
ujian mandiri have to pay much more money than students who have passed in
SNMPTN Undangan. What is worse is, that the fees are almost the same as the ones
in private universities. Even sometimes more expensive! What will people say
about this? The fees in state universities which are expected to be cheaper
become more expensive than in private universities.
The honorable juries and my lovely audience,
For example is medicine faculty, which is the most
favorite faculty. It needs much money to enter that faculty. The first payment
needs approximately one hundred million rupiahs. That’s a lot of money. It has
not included the other payment. Because of that, I think only rich people can
afford that. You know that, everybody has different economy condition. This
situation makes people have to work harder and harder so that they can pay
their children fees. In other condition, maybe some people will choose private
university than state university. Waw! It’s a strange thing if the fees in
state university are more expensive than in private university. And finally,
they take the cheapest one. So, what should the government do?
Ladies and gentlemen,
I think reducing the fees of ujian mandiri in state
university is really required. Government should reduce the fees in ujian
mandiri. So, more and more students can afford it. Even, if the fees in state
universities is more expensive than in private universities, people will think
that it must be other way around. The fees in state universities must be
cheaper than in private universities. So, it’s clear that the government should
take initiatives in order to decrease the fees in ujian mandiri, so that it
will be in a normal standard and affordable for everybody. If this situation
continues to happen, many students who are from lower economy class, will not
be able to continue their study in universities, while the fees are always
getting higher and higher year by year. So, from my speech today, I do hope
that the government could lower the fees of the students who want to join ujian
mandiri in state universities.
And the last, before ending my speech, I would like
to say Happy Anniversary for Lampung University. I hope Lampung University will
be better and better and get more achievement in the future. Thank you very
